Basically, any text file that you have which contains keywords on separate lines can be used in KeywordTidy. Imagine you have a website that sells golf products. You have done your homework and extracted a big list of 2200 words from Overture and 3400 keywords from WordTracker. You have them saved in separate text files. You open up KeywordTidy and load in the Overture file first and then the WordTracker file.
KeywordTidy combines the two lists together. You have 5600 keywords in the list automatically sorted alphabetically for you by KeywordTidy. You select the duplicates and then delete them from your list leaving you with 5000 unique keywords.
However, you notice some dirty porn words contained on some keyword lines within your list. So you select the default unwanted file in KeywordTidy and then click on the "Remove Unwanted" button. All the keywords that contain any of the offending or unwanted words have now gone. You save the remaining 4500 keyword list as MasterGolf.txt.
You also have a special golf website that caters to Florida specifically. You open up the Append/Prepend window and append " Florida" with a space character at the start without replacing the existing list. KeywordTidy automatically adds the phrase " Florida" to the end of every keyword in your list resulting in 9000 keywords. You have just DOUBLED your keyword list! You save this new list as FloridaGolf1.txt.
Append Screenshot Your friend Jeff is an SEO expert who informs you that Google definitely produce different results depending on the order of the words in any given search. Being clever, you realize that people may put Florida before any of the golf terms instead of after. You open up KeywordTidy and load in MasterGolf.txt and prepend "Florida " with a space character at the end to all the words in the list but this time you replace everything in the list. You now have a list of 4500 keywords all starting with "Florida ". You save this list as FloridaGolf2.txt and then load in FloridaGolf1.txt. KeywordTidy automatically merges the two lists and sorts them alphabetically.
Your final list is a whopping 13,500 keywords - effectively TRIPLE your original master list. You save this as FloridaGolfFinal.txt.
Powerful Google Adwords PPC Campaigns OK. You have this big list of keywords but you want to get them into Google Adwords as either a complete phrase or an exact match. For a complete phrase, you must now manually add quotation marks (") at the beginning and end of all 13,500 keywords in your list. Or for an exact match you would add brackets ([ and ])
around your keywords. What a lot of work that would be!
Finally, you open up KeywordTidy and open up your FloridaGolfFinal.txt keyword list containing 13,500 keyword phrases. You then prepend the left bracket character "[" making sure to replace the entire list and then simply append the right bracket character "]" and again replace the list. You save the file as FloridaGolfFinal-Google.txt. You can simply copy and paste this entire list into your Google Adwords keyword box knowing that each keyword phrase will be an exact match.
